/01 — TIER LOGIC How we classify Safe, Target, and Reach colleges.

The smartest counselling preference lists balance ambition with realism. We classify every college you might match into one of three tiers:

TierRuleWhat it means
SAFE Your AIR is at least 30% better than the college's closing rank Very high probability of allotment in round 1
TARGET Your AIR is within ±20% of the closing rank Strong chance — final allotment depends on choice-filling and round movement
REACH Closing rank is up to 30% better than yours Possible in later rounds via stray vacancies or dropouts

/03 — QUESTIONSFrequently asked questions.

What rank do I need for AIIMS Delhi MBBS?
For AIIMS New Delhi MBBS under General/UR category, you typically need an All India Rank within 50–70. Closing rank in NEET 2025 round 1 was AIR 56. Reserved categories have higher closing ranks (OBC ~145, SC ~670, ST ~1740).
Can I get a government MBBS seat with 600 marks in NEET 2026?
With 600 marks and General category, your expected AIR is 9,000–22,000. AIQ government MBBS is unlikely at this rank, but state quota government MBBS is realistic for many states (Maharashtra, UP, MP, Bihar, Karnataka). Reserved categories at 600 marks have very strong chances even in AIQ.
How does this college predictor work?
We compare your predicted AIR against NEET 2025 round-1 closing ranks for 60+ medical and dental colleges. Colleges are grouped into Safe (you're 30%+ better than closing), Target (within ±20%), and Reach (closing rank up to 30% better than yours).
What is the difference between AIQ and State Quota?
AIQ (All India Quota) covers 15% of MBBS/BDS seats nationally and is open to all qualified candidates regardless of state. State Quota covers 85% of seats and requires state domicile. State quota cutoffs are typically 30,000–80,000 ranks lower (easier) than AIQ for the same college.
When does NEET 2026 counselling start?
MCC AIQ counselling for NEET UG 2026 typically begins late July to early August 2026, after NTA result declaration in mid-June 2026. State quota counselling timelines vary by state authority.
