ExamMetrics is a decision intelligence platform that provides structured exam datasets, cutoff trend analysis, rank prediction, and competition ratio data for India's competitive examinations. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and handle your data.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the ExamMetrics website (exammetrics.in) and the ExamMetrics Android application. By accessing or using either surface, you agree to the practices described in this document.
This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India), the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide Directly
- Account registration: Name, email address, and password if you create an account.
- Exam preferences: Exams you are preparing for, target scores, and exam attempt history — used to personalise rank predictions.
- Score inputs: Marks or percentile scores you enter into our rank predictor or success probability tools.
- Feedback & support: Any messages or reports you submit to us.
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, search queries entered, and interaction patterns on the website and app.
- Device data: Device type, operating system version, app version, screen resolution, and language settings.
- Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamps of requests made to our servers.
- Crash reports: Anonymised stack traces and app state at the time of a crash, to help us fix bugs. No personal data is included.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data for the following purposes, each with a legal basis under the DPDP Act 2023:

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent, trade, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We may share data only in the limited circumstances below:
- — Service providers: Infrastructure and hosting partners (e.g., cloud providers) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements and are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

- — Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to a successor entity. You will be notified before any transfer and given the option to delete your account.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on servers located in India. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures including:
Encryption in transit
All data transferred between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.2 or higher.
Encryption at rest
Stored personal data is encrypted using AES-256.
Access controls
Data access is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
Audit logging
All access to production data is logged and periodically reviewed.
Retention: We retain your account data for as long as your account is active plus 90 days after deletion. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained indefinitely. Score inputs used for predictions are not stored beyond your active session unless you explicitly save them.

8. Children's Privacy
ExamMetrics is designed for students preparing for competitive examinations in India. Many of our users are between 16 and 25 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 years without verifiable parental consent.
Under the DPDP Act 2023, processing personal data of a child (under 18) requires verifiable parental consent. If you are under 18 and wish to create an account, parental consent is required. If we discover we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.

9. Third-Party Services
ExamMetrics may integrate with or link to the following categories of third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
- — Cloud infrastructure providers (for hosting and data storage)

- — Push notification services for the Android app (opt-in, exam reminders only)
- — Email delivery services (for account-related transactional emails)
We vet all third-party processors and require them to sign data processing agreements consistent with the DPDP Act 2023. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites linked from our platform.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves or as required by law. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Display a prominent notice on the ExamMetrics homepage for at least 14 days.
- Send an email notification to registered users if the changes materially affect how we use their data.
Continued use of ExamMetrics after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree, you may delete your account before the effective date.
