NEET 2026 College Predictor — frequently asked questions

What is the NEET 2026 College Predictor?
The NEET 2026 College Predictor is a free planning tool that compares your official All India Rank and reservation category with verified historical MCC closing ranks for MBBS colleges. It identifies colleges within the current AIQ and Deemed counselling scope and groups matching results as Safe, Target or Reach. The output is designed to help you begin evidence-based college research before MCC choice filling. It is not an official MCC service, an allotment forecast or a guarantee of admission.
How does the NEET College Predictor work?
Enter the All India Rank shown on your NTA scorecard and select a supported category. The predictor compares that candidate profile with verified NEET UG 2025 MCC closing-rank records. A deterministic rank-margin calculation and a college-level uncertainty band are applied before each included college is classified as Safe, Target or Reach. The same inputs always produce the same result for the same active dataset and calibration version. These classifications describe historical rank position; they are not admission probabilities, recommendations or counselling advice.
Is the College Predictor free?
Yes. The NEET 2026 College Predictor is free to use for an initial MBBS range check. It shows whether the verified opportunity set contains Safe, Target and Reach matches for the AIR, category and available filters you enter. You can also use the free NEET Cutoff Explorer to inspect historical closing ranks directly. The optional ₹199 Personalised MBBS Opportunity Audit is a separate product that provides complete candidate-specific synthesis, boundary analysis and a research worksheet.
Which colleges are included in the NEET 2026 College Predictor?
The current predictor includes MBBS colleges represented in the verified MCC historical dataset for the supported All India Quota and Deemed counselling scope. A college appears only when the active dataset contains the required closing-rank and classification inputs for the candidate’s category. BDS options, state-quota predictions and Central-quota predictions are not included in this verified 2026 predictor scope. Coverage can change when a new verified dataset version is activated, so each result should be read with the displayed provenance, coverage notes and exclusions.
Can I predict Government Medical Colleges?
Yes, the predictor can identify Government Medical Colleges that are present in the verified dataset and participate in the supported MCC All India Quota scope. It compares your AIR and category with the relevant historical closing-rank records and applies the same deterministic classification method used for other included colleges. It does not predict state-quota seats, domicile benefits or college-specific counselling outcomes. A Government Medical College shown as Safe, Target or Reach is a historical range classification—not an assurance that a seat will be allotted.
Can I predict Deemed Medical Colleges?
Yes. Deemed Medical Colleges covered through MCC counselling are included where the active verified dataset contains the required MBBS closing-rank records. You can include all supported colleges or use the available college-type filter for a free range check. The result compares your AIR and category with historical Deemed closing ranks using the same uncertainty-aware method. Fees, service bonds, location preferences and current counselling rules are not prediction inputs, so candidates should verify those factors independently before making final college choices.
Does the predictor use official MCC data?
The predictor uses verified historical closing-rank data published through Medical Counselling Committee processes for the covered AIQ and Deemed MBBS scope. ExamMetrics records the active source dataset and explains the calculation method and limitations so the result can be audited. However, ExamMetrics is an independent product and the NEET 2026 College Predictor is not an official MCC predictor or counselling service. Candidates should always verify current schedules, eligibility rules, seat matrices and notices on the official MCC website before choice filling.
Does the NEET College Predictor guarantee admission?
No. The NEET College Predictor does not guarantee admission, seat allotment or eligibility for a particular college. Safe, Target and Reach are deterministic classifications based on historical closing ranks, your entered AIR and category, and the active uncertainty-band calibration. Actual allotment can change because of seat availability, candidate behaviour, category rules, counselling rounds and new official data. Use the result to structure further research, then verify current MCC rules and college information before submitting or locking choices.
What do Safe, Target and Reach mean?
Safe, Target and Reach describe how your AIR sits relative to a college’s verified historical closing rank after the predictor applies its deterministic rank-margin method and college-level uncertainty band. Safe indicates more historical rank margin, Target indicates a closer range, and Reach indicates a result near the outer supported range. The labels help organise research consistently; they do not express admission probability or personal preference. A Safe label is not a seat assurance, and a Reach label does not mean admission is impossible.
Can I use AIR to predict MBBS colleges?
Yes. The predictor is designed around the official All India Rank shown on the candidate’s NTA scorecard. Entering AIR allows the tool to compare one consistent rank measure with historical MCC MBBS closing ranks for the selected supported category. Marks alone are not used by this college predictor because marks-to-rank relationships can change between exam years. For the most reliable range check, enter the exact official AIR, confirm the category, and review the displayed counselling scope before interpreting the result.
Which counselling quotas are covered?
The verified NEET 2026 prediction scope covers MBBS colleges under the 15% All India Quota and Deemed counselling conducted through MCC where the active dataset has the required records. BDS, Central-quota and state-quota predictions are not available in this version. State domicile rules and state counselling authorities therefore do not affect the predictor output. The free Cutoff Explorer may provide additional historical reference pages, but those pages should not be interpreted as an available prediction scope.
What is the difference between the free predictor and the Personalised MBBS Opportunity Audit?
The free predictor provides an immediate range check with Safe, Target and Reach results so you can judge whether there are in-scope MBBS options worth researching. The ₹199 Personalised MBBS Opportunity Audit turns the same verified candidate inputs into a more complete research artifact: a Decision Snapshot, complete Boundary Watchlist, deterministic Competitiveness Index, Research Worksheet, provenance and limitations. It does not provide admission probability, counselling advice or a preference order. Premium pays for candidate-specific synthesis, completeness and research assistance—not more favourable predictions.
