Tamil Nadu fills its MBBS and BDS seats through two parallel processes. The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) is conducted centrally by MCC and is open to candidates from any state. The remaining 85% State Quota is conducted by TNMRB, requires Tamil Nadu domicile, and typically has lower (more accessible) closing ranks than AIQ.
